Each year the AIA California Council develops a priority advocacy agenda of issues most important to the profession and that will be considered by the Legislature that particular year. The agenda usually comprises issues the AIACC is forwarding, but it can include issues forwarded by other groups and which the AIACC opposes.
A critical component of the effort for our agenda is the grassroots participation of architects. Each year the AIACC asks architects to meet with their legislators to talk about, and advocate for, our priority advocacy agenda. The AIACC prepares Issue Briefs to help the architects communicate the AIACC agenda.
Below are the Issue Briefs for the AIACC’s 2009 and 2010 advocacy agendas.
